What happens if you try and suggest a link exchange with Google? One link builder tried and found himself on the receiving end of some Google mockery. Search Engine Roundtable reports that the webmaster posted his link exchange proposal in a public Google groups thread.
we are building one way links to one of our client’s site <site url>, if you provide a link from your travel and holiday sites to this site, we can give you two back links from the following theme travel, home, webhosting,
Surely an offer too good for Google to turn down? Wrong! Googler Evan had to reject it but did give the webmaster some advice:
Our homepage has a fairly high PR and is based in the US, but sadly we do not have any travel-related pages one link away. If you want, you can submit a business proposal to Google here: http://www.google.com/support/contact/bin/request.py?bdpg=1
Sounds like Evan really would have gone for it if there would have been an appropriate page.
cant believe it!
is that really what google replied?
